Managing your hosting account
Web Control Panel (Ensim)
With my easy to use system and on-line help, you don't need to learn
about obscure unix commands and configuration files to manage your hosting
account.
Web File Manager
Upload and manage your web site files using just your web browser. Save
time and money by not buying and installing additional software.
FTP Access
If you prefer, you can upload and manage your web site files using most
standard FTP clients. Your users can also upload and download files from
your FTP server, and you can even run an anonymous FTP server to distribute
your publically accessible materials.
Directory Protection
Enhance the security of your site and provide your clients with extra
services by using passwords to restrict access to parts of your site for
different users and groups.
Backup/Restore
Protect yourself against lost data by creating ad-hoc and regular scheduled
backups of your files, databases and configuration information in one easy
step.
(You will need to run an FTP server on your local site or PC to use
this feature).
Microsoft FrontPage Support
Create, upload and manage your web site files using Microsoft's popular and
easy-to-use FrontPage software. I include FrontPage 2002 extensions at no
extra charge.
(Please ask for FrontPage extensions to be installed when ordering. You
will need to purchase your own copy of FrontPage to use this feature. I
recommend that you do not use FTP or the Web File Manager to manage your site
if you are a FrontPage user).
Subdomains
Help your departments and teams present a professional image to your clients
by creating subdomains. For example, if your main site is located at
www.yoursite.co.uk, you can create different sets
of pages at sales.yoursite.co.uk,
service.yoursite.co.uk, etc.
Personal Web Space
Provide each of your staff with their own personal web space (managed
through FTP) and even create subdomains for them, e.g.
http://www.yourdomain.co.uk/~username/ or
http://username.yourdomain.co.uk/.
Email features
POP3/IMAP and SMTP Servers
Send and receive email through your hosting account using the email
software with which you are familiar. Most standard email clients will
work, e.g. Microsoft Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora, etc. You can create
your own email accounts using the web control panel.
Spam and Virus Checking
Our hosting accounts automatically identify and tag junk email and
potentially damaging emails using our mailscanner and spamassassin anti-virus
and anti-spam systems. You save £thousands in wasted time and effort.
(In order to create a a robust security system, we recommend that
you also install your own anti-virus software on your local servers and PCs).
Web Based Email
Your users can check their email from anywhere in the world using a
standard web browser. Keep in touch with your major clients, or deal with
a crisis back at the office wherever you are.
(Please ask for webmail to be installed when ordering. Please
note that webmail will use approximately 9MB of your available disk space).
Email Aliases
Create special email addresses that forward incoming mail to multiple recipients,
e.g. create an alias enquiries@yourdomain.co.uk to
copy each email from a potential new client to your everyone in your new
business team, ensuring a swift follow-up.
Autoresponders
You can automatically reply to emails sent to an email alias. Let your
clients know what your service standards are and who to call if they don't
receive a timely response.
Email Forwarding
You can allow your users forward their emails to another email account.
Don't let the emails pile up back in the office when working from home.
Vacation Messages
You can allow your users to set up an automatic reply when they're out
of the office or on holiday. Each sender receives only one message
regardless of how many emails they send, so you don't annoy your clients
by creating a pile-up in their inbox.
Mailing Lists
Bring in new clients and generate repeat business by creating mailing lists
for your potential and existing clients, e.g. announce new services or send
regular newsletters and bulletins. Your clients can add and remove themselves
from your mailing lists automatically, ensuring that you comply with the
latest anti-spam legislation.
